Heavy Tuba "Meltdown", Live at the Sibelius Hall in Lahti The Sibelius Hall (Sibeliustalo) is a concert hall in Lahti, Finland, named after composer Jean Sibelius. The Hall was built in 2000. Heavy Tuba was founded by Heimo Schmid in 1993. Three tubas, four euphoniums/trombones, and a rhythm section of five contribute to the perhaps untraditional sound. Since 1997 the British vocalist Dorretta Carter is a member of the ensemble. Heavy Tuba combines classic, jazz, rock, funk, soul and cannot be compared to any other group. |
